Make a Difference, Volunteer!

You can make a difference! Whether you are a student or retired, working or looking at working in the field, your help is important. Opportunities include tutoring, older sister / older brother, mentor, program animation, driving and more. We seek individuals and groups who are willing to commit their time and energy for a minimum of one time per week, for a full school year or longer.

As we are working with vulnerable youth, all candidates are police-screened, reference-checked and complete an orientation before being considered as a potential volunteer. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The skills, interests, geographic location and time availability of the candidate will be taken into account in the volunteer matching process. Once a specific volunteer role is selected by the prospective volunteer, a second and final interview is arranged before beginning the assignment.

The young people, families, caregivers and administration of Batshaw Youth and Family Centres (Batshaw Centres) recognize the invaluable contribution volunteers make to our programs and services. Volunteers are the very heart of the community we serve. We hope that you choose to make a difference and get involved in the important work we do.
